Dom makes his own canon

If you haven't heard yet, there's a fabulous interview about "Happy Accidents" that Dom was nice enough to do with a starDom staff member on April 3rd. Yay for the interviewer who let him go, didn't interrupt a bit! Go read it if you haven't yet.

New Dom "canon" (truth? who knows?)

1. Dom says some websites associated with him "don't really document the truth" [ya think?] -- but starDom is great.


2. He showed his photos "to Viggo and Elijah and people like that."


3. The photo Eye Frgt (Forget) is about his first year in LA, when he was "a little lost and a little all over the place". The girl's eye was "who I was spending a lot of time with in L.A. at that point".


4. Dom went down to see Billy in Mexico "for about six weeks and Billy and I both painted our [toe]nails red to show the passing of time."


5. The New York photos were shot "when we did the Two Towers premiere."


6. Dom first saw Slava's Snow Show "in Sydney with Orlando and Billy and Elijah and we all went to the show. We were like little kids. We stayed in the theatre for about half an hour having fake snowball fights with each other. "


7. About the Billy pictures:"Well, I'm in love with him, you know. If I was a gay man I would actively pursue him"


8. "Billy and I have had a relationship over the years that is one of my favourite friendships that I've had. He's an incredibly charming guy and someone who I always enjoy spending time with and just a very close personal friend and someone who gets me. You know, there's not a lot of people out there that I really feel get me and Billy got me in an effortless way. So he's one of my favourite subjects to shoot. You know, not only is he comfortable in front of the camera when I'm there, but he's also, uh, he gives something. He exudes something to the camera."


9. "I got a chance to show Billy the show. He's actually in town right now, so I got a chance to show, give him a kind of private tour of the show. I told him that I was considering calling the show "I'm in Love With Billy Boyd," just because there's so many pictures of him."


10. "I think my favorite one is probably the one that says Hobbit. I mean I think that captures a part of Billy that not that many people see. He has a great resonance and a great power about him and he looked very, very cool in that shot."


11. "And then I like the shot called It Must Be Love... Billy and I are at the premiere of the Return of the King in Japan, and we're just having a great time. We enjoy each other's company and we're just smiling and having fun and I wanted that to come across in the photo that we're both so happy and comfortable in each other's company."


12. About Billy and Dom's script: "We wrote a treatment for the movie and we shopped it around to a few people and it had a kind of organized crime theme and a lot of people had a problem with the organized crime theme. So, we then went back and started rethinking the idea....But Billy's in town right now and we spent a little time talking about what will do next. We're hoping that, at some point in the future, it will happen. We have great kind of comraderie on camera together and, fingers crossed, at some point in the future it will happen."


13. About his tattoo, Life Imitates Art -- he was leaving Hawaii, Charlie was leaving the island, Oscar Wilde had a few great things to say, it's good advice... "So, it was just my way of kind of saying thank you to the fact that I've been able to tap into [art] and I've been able to use it as a kind of piece of therapy in a way."

"IF I was a gay man I would actively pursue him" Come on Dom! Cut the crap and just keep pursueing Billy! - as a MAN that is 'Billysexual' hahahaha

I'm glad that Billy went to L.A to see the show - how could he resist?? Wish he said what Bills thought of him renaming his show?

Billy could honestly see that Dom loves him A LOT! I wonder if Dom was pursuaded by Billy to go back to Evi?? Because I know Dom really doesn't want to start a new relationship if it's not with Billy. And we all know Dom hates being alone.

In conclusion, How much times does Dom have to shout that he loves Billy - meaning he wants to be with him, and how much times does Billy have to visit and go on Holiday with Dom to snap themselves out of the illusion that they have found themselves in? They both want and need each other and I think its going to start to take a toll on both of them?? Just the constant proclaming of LOVE from Dom - hurts my heart. Sometimes I wish Ali had never gotten pregnant - but then we would never had Jack...

Dom and Billy's 'relationship' is such a sad case of denile and under many upsetting situations that they are trying to DEAL - the best they can.

That kind of talk makes me kindof uneasy. I like the hoyay as much as any fangirl, but I don't know what's inside Dom's head, whether he wants to start a new relationship, anything about that. It might be denial, it might not -- that's what fiction is for.

I can't even count all my favorite parts about this interview. And I have to say, it does make me happy that Dom seems to be such a great supporter of monaboyd_month. He's given us so much fantastic 'canon' lately. :)
