Description: “This is the last time.” Billy mutters against the smooth expanse of Dom’s neck.
A/N: This is not beta'd because I've been running behind on my fic since I've been taking care of my mom. But I did give it a shot. :)
This will not happen again.
It cannot happen again is more like it.
And they both know it.
“This is the last time.” Billy mutters against the smooth expanse of Dom’s neck. He has only a moment to dwell on the thought before Dom’s fingers do something wickedly delicious and all thoughts are driven from his mind.
It’s always the last time. It’s been the last time more times than either of them care to remember. Billy has a family that he can’t live without and Dom has Evi; and they’d do anything to hold on to them.
Well, almost anything.
Billy’s fingers grip Dom’s hips, hard but not hard enough to bruise. He knows better than to mark him. Dom doesn’t belong to him anymore.
Dom rides him hard, head thrown back, eyes closed. It’s almost as if he can’t bear to look at Billy. But then suddenly, his eyes pop open, and he leans down to capture Billy’s mouth with his own. And Billy swears that he can still taste New Zealand on him.
The simplicity, the innocence, the love of those days seems to be pouring from Dom. It’s like the miles and years of distance from that time never existed. They’re suddenly in a time when the world doesn’t even know who Dominic Monaghan and Billy Boyd are. And for a moment, they’re just two blokes on South Island, thoroughly in love with life and each other.
Then the kiss breaks and the moment is shattered.
He knows that neither of them will last much longer. He can feel his release building and Dom is tensing above him, a sure sign that things are coming to an end. They are coming to an end.
And in what seems like only a short moment later, they reach completion together, both left feeling far from complete.
It’s always over too soon, before either of them is ready to let go.
They’ll shower together, wash each other gently. Wash the evidence away.
Billy will get dressed; he’ll give Dom one last kiss, and leave, promising himself to never do this again.
But in a month’s time or maybe even a year, he’ll miss Dom. More than that, he’ll need Dom.
And eventually he’ll convince himself that over doesn’t mean over.
And then he’ll go to Dom and beg. “Just one last time. Please.”

Date: 2010-06-18 02:20 am (UTC)And I could just see Dom making pancakes for the family. *grin* You may have inspired something there. A Dom/stepmom fic. I must keep that in mind.

Date: 2010-06-04 03:55 pm (UTC)Oh, this was very good. I love the theme of one last time happening again, and again. Is that true love or what? Poor Billy with his family ties - until they are just no longer enough. What Dom needs with Evi is beyond me. If they could only be really happy together.
Thank you - I enjoyed reading your fic.

Date: 2010-06-18 02:24 am (UTC)They are so in love with each other and yet trapped in their own separate lives; they just can't get it together. At least there is some small glimmer of hope for a future with them together; after all, it's never really the last time and over doesn't mean over. :)

*sigh*

Date: 2010-06-18 02:26 am (UTC)I'm so glad that you saw the small bit of hope that I tried to leave at the end. It broke my heart to write this, but I wanted to leave a tiny little inkling that perhaps things could one day change.
Thank you for taking the time to read and comment.
