There was the Edinburgh Military Tattoo to attend, and kilts to be worn. (Dom also had to work through his wig issues during this time.)
There was pool to be played and fun to be had.
They had birthdays to celebrate.
There was drinking to be done with the other cast and crew.
There were cast and crew members to bond with, sometimes not even involving vast amounts of alcohol.
There were tall tales to tell the youngest Astin and young Master Wood.
They spent time getting to know everyones family and friends when they descended upon Wellington.
There were balls to attend (and frickin' goatees to shave.)
BBQ food to eat, and more beer to drink.
Hangovers to nurse.
Concerts to attend.
There were little bits of media (and each other) to do.
There were rugby games to cheer at, beer to be drunk, and young Americans to corrupt.
That famous NZ past-time of bath tub racing to partake in. (I don't know.)
There was body hair to be ripped off (and then sore skin to be soothed later with tongues when the film crew finally pissed off).
There were, um, other activities that kept them occupied.
And then there was that infamous time they were relocated to the South Island for "rain cover filming", which is what the kids are calling it these days. What happened in that week is between Billy, Dom, and Orli's video recorder. (Or you can read one of 378 fanfic stories accounts written about it.)

YAY! I love that photo so much (even if they weren't supporting the All Blacks, and Billy's jacket makes my eyes hurt!). I was at that game - no hobbit sightings sadly, but we did win the game!!
