Title: Western Lovers: Cowboys and Archaeologists Missing Scene
Author: [livejournal.com profile] sassywitch
Pairing: BB/DM
Rating: NC-17, to be on the safe side.
Summary: Be careful what you wish for.
Feedback: Feedback is my writers crack, which is not to be confused at all with plumbers crack.
Disclaimer: Not at all true in reality. These men whilst adorable and perfectly happy to slash themselves, their actual relationship is something that they only know. This story is adapted from a series of books that I adored when I was younger written by Elizabeth Lowell.
Word Count: 929

A/N 3:There are several missing scenes coming as requested. I hope you enjoy them.

Billy drove his new twin cab pickup slowly over the heavily rutted, gravel-strewn roadway, glancing back in the rear view mirror every few feet.

Dom sat beside him, twisting in his seat as his eyes fixed on the baby capsules that held the two new additions to their family.

“Did you ever think we’d be here? Dom spoke, his voice soft and still filled with the same awe he’d had since they had been present at their baby’s births.

“Honestly?” Billy glanced back at their sleeping offspring before reaching across to clasp Dom’s hand. “No.”

“You don’t regret it do you?” Dom’s smoky eyes flicked to Billy’s face.

“Not for a second. I just never dreamed that I could have everything we have now.”

“Surreal isn’t it?” Dom grinned then turned his attention back to the sleeping babes.

“That’s one way to describe it.” Billy turned his attention back to the road, guiding the truck onto what had become their private driveway.

Slowing to park on a concrete pad near their front steps, Billy engaged the park brake and in the one motion released his seatbelt and turned to look at their children.

“What if we break them?” he whispered softly, one hand reaching out to brush downy strawberry blond locks from Lennox’s forehead.

“They’re babies Billy, not machinery. You can’t break them.” Dom chuckled softly, his cheeky grin softening as he watched the awe on Billy’s face. “You didn’t do too badly with Daisy-May.”

“Sugarplum was a little person when we got her.” He shrugged.

“So are they, just tinier.” Dom responded before he released his own seatbelt. “C’mon,” he gestured through the windshield, “Welcoming committee is here.”

Both men acknowledged the appearance on the path that linked the two houses of their family before they slid out of the car.

Opening the rear door, Billy leaned in and unfastened the straps that secured their son inside his capsule.

“Welcome home, little man.” He whispered against his forehead as he pressed a gentle kiss to the soft pink skin.

Cradling his tiny son against his chest, Billy closed the door gently before he turned to face the rest of his extended family.

“I want first cuddle.” Liv called, one hand resting on her heavily pregnant belly as she puffed her way towards them.

“We would have brought them up to you Livvy.” Dom stated as he walked around the front of the pickup, baby Lana snuggled into the crook of his arm.

“She didn’t want to miss their homecoming.” Viggo rolled his eyes as he explained, Milo carried on one hip, Daisy-May on the other.”

“You can stop that right now, Viggo Peter Mortensen.” Liv chided him as she affectionately whacked his shoulder. “Don’t think I don’t see you rolling your eyes and ‘humoring’ me.” She pressed her lips to Billy’s forehead as she brushed a finger across Lennox’s chubby cheek, then turned to scold her husband once more. “Careful or I’ll make you move the lounge again.”

“Yes, dear.” Viggo dipped his head to press a kiss to his wife’s cheek, cursing lightly under his breath as his cargo grabbed either side of his hat and pulled it lower over his face. He staggered comically and stage fell backwards into the soft grass on the hillside, both toddlers landing on his chest giggling wildly.

Billy laughed at Viggo’s antics before he gently transferred his newborn son into Liv’s waiting arms.

“C’mere Sugarplum.” He ducked down to scoop Daisy-May into his arms and off Viggo’s chest.

“Papa!!” Daisy-May squealed.

“How’s my best girl?” Billy lifted her high in his arms and blew a wet raspberry against her plump belly as her t-shirt rode up.

“Good.” She answered earnestly, giggling at her father’s antics.

“Bills, we’re taking the babies inside.” Dom spoke from the front steps as he extended a hand to Liv, to assist her passage up the stairway.

“We won’t be long.” Billy responded as Daisy May snuggled into his neck.

“Miss Papa.” She spoke earnestly.

“I miss my Sugarplum too.” He answered, extending a hand to help Viggo up off the ground.

“She hasn’t missed you that much.” Viggo tweaked Daisy-May’s nose as he dusted loose grass off of Milo’s clothes. “This pair of little terrorists was busy tying my shoelaces together and hiding my car keys.”

Billy looked into his daughter’s sweet, innocent face and grinned, “Must have been Milo’s idea, Vig.”

“Ah huh.” Viggo nodded in agreement. “I’m sure it was, and tomorrow the sun is going to rise in the west. The pair of them are equal partners and don’t you forget it. I’m taking the ringleader back for his afternoon nap, can one of you walk Liv home?”

Nodding in affirmation, Billy turned to walk into their home but at the top of the stairs he turned and sat down, turning Daisy May until she was sitting on his knees.

“Papa?” she frowned.

“Do you remember where Daddy and I went?” he asked her. One hand lifted to automatically straighten her crooked ponytail.

“Baby?” she asked, her eyes wide as she studied Billy’s face.

“That’s right Sugarplum, we brought home your new brother and sister.” He tweaked her nose gently and lifted her to stand on her feet beside him on the step. “Would you like to meet them?”

Daisy-May nodded, her face creased in a frown as she watched her papa stand.

Billy caught her tiny hand in his and stood, opening the door to usher his daughter through the door before him on their way to complete their family.

Such a lovely homecoming scene - I need to go back and re-read the entire thing one of these days. WL: C&A has always been one of my favorite Monaboyd fics.
